Losing your religion

Once you become and adult and have some education and learn to actually use critical thinking skills you will have come to the realization that the whole religion myth, you have been brought up to believe, is basically just a waste of money, time and focus. Many people do not want to give up the illusion of religion because of the feeling of belonging to a group. You could still join groups that you attend weekly. Maybe something you find interesting and exciting?? But what if you spend a moment before a meal to express gratitude for your current life and the people you have in it?

I will tell you that at first it is quite painful to come to this realization but it is much better to go through that pain than to live and believe a lie for the rest of your life.

It is just as painful as when you were little and you learned that Santa Claus, the Tooth fairy, and the Easter bunny are just illusions to make you feel all special and happy inside. You can either cling to your dreams of castles and golden roads in the clouds or you can grow up and live in reality. You sure would look foolish to be an adult that still firmly believes in these pipe dreams.improve-your-memory-by-daydreaming.1280x600

How about instead of meeting up every Sunday to mull over the same ancient textbook over who you are supposed to be and what you are supposed to do. Basically, “How to be an acceptable robot”… do you really want to waste your life reading a book like that? When in reality you do not need a book to tell you who to be, I suggest one rule. Don’t do anything that will hurt yourself or others. This does not require you to be “perfect” nor does it threaten eternal burning.

You shouldn’t need a book or a god to tell you not to rape and murder people. Rapists and killers usually already know all about religion… many of them are DEEP into religion.

For instance, I’m sure you have heard of a little Christian group called the Ku Klux Klan. They were/are a bundle of ignorant dumbasses and an embarrassment of American history, who were “hell bent” on the belief that they were enforcing “God’s law” on behalf of who they believed to be the “chosen” people, the white race. They have murdered and tortured black and gays for way too many years.

Ever hear about a guy named Ed Gein?

Religion got his ass good! His mother was a big time, devout, puritan who drilled her preachings, constantly, into little Eddie’s brain until her death in 1945. Ed never dated and never got laid … well … not by a living human. After the death of his beloved mother, he would lurk around cemeteries and dig up female corpses. He’d make masks, lamps, and bowls out of these women’s body parts.  He even had sex with the corpses. But he was a “good” Christian and he returned the spare parts to the grave. Lovely.

How about that religious cult leader Charles Manson?

Mason, used persuasion and religion to train his followers to do his bidding. His cult robots did everything for him. So, anyone that thinks he is a murderer is wrong because he never got his hands dirty. Either way, he was still fucked up for using religion to control his people.

The whole Waco, TX situation was a group of people in The Branch Davidians, a sect that separated in 1955 from the Seventh-Day Adventist church. ATF attempted to invade the ranch for suspected gun violations and ended up with four government officials being killed. So the FBI jumped into the scene where they battled the Branch Davidians for 51 days. Eventually, they ended up torching the ranch and 76 people and children died.

waco-texas_ammolandWhat a horrible waste! This event was partially the motivation behind the Oklahoma City bombing, two years later.

Yes, religion without moderation is extremely corruptive. But don’t think you are safe using religion in moderation, whether you want to believe it or not IS subconsciously traumatic and detrimental. You know you sin… so therefore you are bad person?  What a horrible way to think of yourself. Who would want their children to grow up thinking of themselves in this fashion??
